Handling
Your Seedlings Prior to Planting
Tree
seedlings are living plants that come under stress prior to
planting .You must minimize heating and moisture stresses.
In doing so, you will enhance the chances of good growth and
survival. Some ideas that you may find useful: Plant your
trees within a day or two upon receiving them. The sooner,
the better! Store your trees in the coolest place available
but do not freeze them. Keep them out of direct sunlight and
wind. Keep the bags sealed to help keep the roots moist. Do
not store your trees in pails of water for longer than 1-2
hours. Yes, roots not only dry out - they can also drown.
