Our Technology
Known
for its leadership in innovation and technology, the St. Williams Nursery and Ecology Centre
nurseries are the most technologically advanced operations
of their kind in the world.
Integrating
state-of-the-art greenhouse building designs with computerized
crop handling to robotic processing and packaging, the company
has developed a critical market advantage in both production
cost control and seedling quality. This is St. Williams Nursery and Ecology Centre's
platform for success.
Another
of St. Williams Nursery and Ecology Centre's advantages comes from its
use of the patented Starpot growing system.
Developed by Panth Produkter AB in Sweden, this unique growing
container allows St. Williams Nursery and Ecology Centre seedlings to have the most natural
root systems possible. The system virtually eliminates root
deformities inherent in conventional nursery containers through
its natural air-pruning design and requires no chemical treatment
often used in other forest nurseries in attempt to combat
the root deformity problem. This year St. Williams Nursery and Ecology Centre has introduced
a third generation air pruning tray that
will further improve the seedlings plantation performance.
For the forest manager or landowner, St. Williams Nursery and Ecology Centre's
Air Pruning Tray system ensures the highest survival
of seedlings.
